iPhone Dev team has released Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Windows users. Couple of days back they had released Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Mac to jailbreak iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
It was meant for developers of jailbreak apps and tweaks so they can test their software on iOS 5 beta.
Dev Team has updated their blog post with the following details:
Since Apple now provides Windows iTunes 10.5 for iOS5 and iCloud developers, it?s no longer the case that only Mac owners can legitimately activate their devices.? We now provide a Windows version of redsn0w for those developers (only!).
Meanwhile, iH8sn0w has also released Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 1 for Windows for iOS 5.0b1. Sn0wbreeze is considered the unofficial PwnageTool for Windows.
It allows users to create custom iOS 5 beta 1 firmware file that is pre-jailbroken, which can be used to upgrade their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to iOS 5 beta 1. In case of iPhone, it also preserves the baseband from getting upgraded so that it can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w.
